The five factors

Every dentist is scored from 0 to 10 on five factors. Those scores are then weighted and combined into the single figure you see beside each name. The weightings reflect what matters most when you are trusting someone with irreversible dental work in another country.

Why patient feedback carries the most weight

For a UK patient who cannot pop back next week, the lived experience of previous patients is the single most useful signal available. We weight patient feedback highest — but we look at consistency, not just volume. A dentist whose reviews say the same calm, honest things over and over is worth more than one with a handful of glowing testimonials. Why experience is weighted second

Dentistry is a craft, and full-arch and aesthetic work especially so. A clinician who places implants or designs smiles every day, for years, develops judgement that cannot be taught in a weekend course. We reward depth in the relevant specialism rather than raw years alone — a dentist twenty years into general practice does not automatically out-score a focused implantologist with fifteen.

What we deliberately exclude

• Price. A cheaper dentist is not a better dentist. Price belongs in your budgeting, not in a quality ranking, so it carries no weight here.
• Marketing spend. Slick websites and social media reach tell you nothing about clinical skill.
• Advertising relationships. No dentist on this list pays for placement or can buy a higher position.

The ranking is refreshed for 2026 and is editorial opinion based on publicly available information. We re-check review profiles, registrations and patient feedback periodically, and a dentist's position can move if the evidence changes.
